How Collection Works
The instance list includes sites submitted by users or found via internet searches.
The collector reads the instance list from the database and polls each instance
for /api/nodes. By default it runs every 4 hours,
updating node positions and metadata in the database.
During each collection cycle, the system also checks /version for each
instance when available and updates stored version details.
